Elon Musk has become a 'perfume salesman' as he has changed his Twitter bio accordingly. The world's richest man claims to have sold 20,000 bottles of a new fragrance called "Burnt Hair" in a matter of hours. Musk has already made ₹16.8 crore as each bottle costs Rs. 8,400. Musk has made a sincere request to his followers so that they can buy his perfume and he can raise enough money to buy Twitter.
By the end of October, Musk is projected to finalize his $4 billion acquisition of Twitter. If he doesn't, the on-and-off-contract breach will be put to trial in November. On the evening of October 12, the founder of SpaceX claimed to have sold 20,000 bottles of the fragrance.
"With a name like mine, getting into the fragrance business was inevitable—why did I fight it for so long!?" He joked on Twitter.
Dubbed as "the finest fragrance on earth," the product is sold through the website for their startup The Boring Company. In early 2018, his startup was valued at $5.7 billion, sold flamethrowers for $500 each, raising $10 million. Musk also sold 50,000 hats through The Boring Company, which did not respond to Reuters questions about how long the omnigender perfume would be listed.
The name of the perfume is engraved in script on the front of a ruby red bottle, which is displayed in the advertisement. The tagline reads, "The Essence of Adverse Desire". Each bottle is sold to US customers for $100.
In response to his original tweet containing the product link, Musk informed his potential customers that they can pay with Dogecoin. In a recent lawsuit, Musk, as well as Tesla, SpaceX, The Boring Company and others, have been accused of raising the price of Dogecoin by more than 36,000% over the course of two years and then allowing it to crash.
