AIIMS Delhi Launches 'Casualty Dashboard'; Now get emergency beds, complete information about waiting patients

 


AIIMS Delhi has launched a dashboard on its official website which shows the status of availability of emergency beds in the hospital 


• 'Patient Tracker System' was showcased by AIIMS, wherein doctors can view the current status of their patients in case of emergency like 'Pending investigation/which referral call to the particular department is pending, time in emergency, etc' 


The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi has launched a dashboard on its official website that shows the status of availability of emergency beds in the hospital and the number of patients awaiting admission. 


AIIMS Delhi launched the "Main Hospital Accident Dashboard" during a high level meeting of heads of various national capital based hospitals to discuss the issue of better coordination among them to handle patients effectively. 


“Patient Tracker System” was showcased by AIIMS in which doctors can view the current status of their patients in case of emergency, such as “what investigation is pending / which referral call to the particular department is pending, time in emergency, etc.” . 


AIIMS Director M Srinivas on Saturday held a meeting with medical superintendents of government hospitals, where they discussed real-time emergency bed availability, integrated dashboard of bed status and critical and non-serious cases of all hospitals. 


He also stressed on the formation of a "human network" in which all hospitals will have nodal officers in case of their emergencies, for efficient communication with other hospitals regarding the availability of beds and the clinical status of the patients being referred. Would have taken 


Dr. Srinivas also suggested the creation of a system of two-way referral of patients - a hospital with less specialization can send its critical patients to a higher center while a higher center can send its stable emergency patients to hospitals with general specialties. 


Senior doctors from other hospitals also discussed "video teleconsultation" for patients in emergencies that require super-specialist care. 


Medical Director, Medical Superintendent of Safdarjung Hospital, RML, LHMC, SVBP, DDU, Indra Gandhi Hospital, ILBS, NDMC, LNJP Hospital, IHBAS, Madan Mohan Malaviya Hospital, Acharya Shree Bhikshu Hospital, Charak Pallika attended the meeting. 


AIIMS-New Delhi proposed customized training programs for the staff to develop expertise in the field of emergency critical case handling in their respective hospitals. 


Other initiatives taken by AIIMS-New Delhi include an RFID-enabled waiting room for attendants of patients and video calling/messaging of patient's health to the attendants.
