The company is set to expand production capacity for solar modules and enter solar cell manufacturing.

• It plans to develop 8,000 MW utility scale projects, 1,000 MW solar rooftops and 1,50,000 solar pumps in the state over the next five years.

Tata Power on Friday announced to develop about 10,000 MW of renewable energy capacity, mainly solar power, in Rajasthan over the next five years.

Tata Power plans to build a renewable energy portfolio of 10,000 MW in the state (in Rajasthan in the next five years).

At the ongoing Investment Rajasthan Summit in Jaipur, it said it plans to develop 8,000 MW utility scale projects, 1,000 MW solar rooftops and 1,50,000 solar pumps in the state over the next five years.

Tata Power, along with its wholly owned subsidiary Tata Power Solar, will expand its presence in Rajasthan to generate clean energy through solar power.

The company has over 4,500 people in the state, and its expansion projects will create jobs for over 6,000-8,000 people over the next five years.

He said, “Rajasthan has today emerged as a role model for producing green energy through solar energy, both in terms of potential and what has been done so far. Dr Praveer Sinha, CEO and MD, Tata Power said, “I am delighted to be here for the Invest Rajasthan Summit.

Tata Power currently has a portfolio of 4,939 MW. So far, Tata Power has commissioned 2,066 MW in Rajasthan and solar projects of about 2,873 MW capacity are under construction, which will be completed in the next 12-24 months.
