2,119 new covid cases reported in a day in India

 


The country has conducted more than 89.96 crore COVID tests so far.



With the active cases reaching 25,037 across the country, India has recorded a total of 4.46 crore cases so far, taking the total number of deaths to 528,953.


New Delhi: The Union Health Ministry on Friday said that India has registered 2,119 new COVID cases in the last 24 hours. With the active cases across the country reaching 25,037, India has reported a total of 4.46 crore so far. The total number of deaths has reached 528,953 in the last two years.


While Assam has reported 2697 active caseloads, Gujarat has 561 active cases. Karnataka has 2926 active cases while Kerala has 4323 active cases. Maharashtra has 2650 active cases, Odisha has 532 cases, Rajasthan has 350 cases, Tamil Nadu has 3692 active cases; There are 375 active cases in Uttar Pradesh and 1417 in West Bengal so far.


The daily positivity rate is reported to be 1.13% while the weekly positivity rate is 0.97%.


In the last 24 hours, more than 2582 patients have been cured of corona. Since the start of the pandemic, more than 4,40,84,646 people have recovered from Covid.


The country has so far conducted over 89.96 crore Covid tests, while 1,88,220 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours.


So far, more than 219.50 crore vaccine doses have been administered to people across the country under the Kovid vaccination campaign.


Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan has directed the States/UTs to monitor the incoming international travelers as per the Revised Surveillance Strategy in the context of COVID-19.


Further, he has directed all the States/UTs to continue surveillance and continuous genome sequencing of Influenza Like Illness (lLl) and SARI cases in all hospitals on a regular basis. States have also been asked to continue immunization of all eligible people.
